OCEAN NETWORK EXPRESS & ANCOTRANS INTENSIFY PARTNERSHIP THROUGH INNOVATION AND GREEN AMBITIONS

<May 23, 2023, London> Ocean Network Express (ONE) and ANDERS NIELSEN & CO (Ancotrans), two organizations who are committed to reducing their Green House Gas (GHG) emissions and limiting their negative impact on the environment, have extended their European road haulage partnership. The collaboration encompasses multiple projects with both companies working together in the field of sustainability.

ONE&Ancotrans

Ocean Network Express (ONE) aims to reduce its scope 3 CO2 emissions related to their inland transport activities by procuring environmentally friendly vendor services. Ancotrans’ European coverage and operating structure enables triangulations and reloads across major EU ports, avoiding unnecessary empty mileage and reducing CO2 emissions at the same time. Next to their large fleet of EURO VI trucks, the Danish trucking company will deploy their first fully electric trucks in Germany from July this year and provides a tree planting project – the Anco-forest program - for their customer base to compensate for any remaining emissions. The Anco-forest program aims to off-set 100% of the currently unavoidable emissions and is supported by ONE. Both companies are currently fine-tuning an optimized operational setup for electric truck usage, even further improving their environmental performance.

CEO of Ancotrans, Anne Kathrine Steenbjerge, says “As we lay out our strategy for the next four years, our drive to obtain a broader international presence and to become a greener company remains true. To make that happen, we are focusing more on our people, growth with our customers, and our impact on the planet. One of the areas we want to improve is our operational efficiency to provide a better service to our customers. Our vision is to build a truly European network based on our values and ambition to become 100% CO2 neutral”.

Johan Pijpers, Manager Inland Operations & Procurement Europe & Africa at ONE's Sub Regional Headquarters office in Rotterdam adds "ONE continuously strives to implement environmental solutions for our inland transports. Making use of Ancotrans’ services and innovative approach is another example of sustainable services which adds value to our green inland strategy".
