Ocean Network Express and Go Shipping Join to Promote the Charity Breast International Group Through the #ONEPINKRIBBON Campaign

<27th July 2023> Ocean Network Express (ONE) is happy to announce the newest partner in their Pink Ribbon campaign, Go Shipping.

The ONE Pink Ribbon campaign was launched in the later months of 2021, and was initiated by ONE to increase the awareness of breast cancer across the globe. ONE branded 100 of its iconic magenta containers to feature the pink ribbon – an international symbol for breast cancer awareness that promotes the importance of early detection of breast cancer.

Donations are made by ONE’s customers per Pink Ribbon container shipment. The donation will then be matched by ONE, with all money raised to go to different breast cancer charities around the world.

ONE has partnered with Go Shipping, a logistics operator in Greece, to transport two of the Pink Ribbon containers across the globe. The two containers arrived in Piraeus from Shanghai in China, at the request of “Go Shipping” who have generously donated $800 US, which will be matched by ONE and all proceeds will be donated to Breast International Group (BIG), an international not-for-profit organization for academic breast cancer research groups from around the world.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), breast cancer is now the most common form of cancer as of December 2020. In 2020 there were 2.3 million women diagnosed with breast cancer and 685,000 deaths globally. As of the end of 2020, there were 7.8 million women alive who were diagnosed with breast cancer in the past 5 years, making it the world’s most prevalent cancer.

Konstantinos Lagos, Chairman and Managing Director of Go Shipping comments, “Thank you for the opportunity to contribute to the Pink Ribbon Campaign. As someone who cares deeply about the fight against breast cancer, I am honored to have been able to make a donation to support your crucial work.”

Mr. Lagos applauds the campaign by adding “The Pink Ribbon Campaign's dedication to raising awareness and providing aid for breast cancer treatment is truly commendable. Your efforts are making a tangible difference in the lives of individuals impacted by breast cancer and their loved ones. Knowing that my contribution is helping support your initiatives brings me a sense of fulfillment and purpose. Breast cancer affects countless lives around the world, and your organization's commitment to making a positive change inspires me greatly. By working together, we can bring hope and strength to those facing this challenging journey.” He concludes by saying “Your hard work and compassion are making a significant impact, and I am grateful to be part of such a vital cause. I am eager to continue supporting the ONE Campaign's efforts and standing together in the fight against breast cancer.”

ONE’s Director of Marketing and Commercial for Europe & Africa, Stanley Smulders commented: “ONE is excited to partner with Go Shipping on this benevolent shipment,” “It is through collaborations and donations like this that help fund essential research and create awareness globally.
