Ocean Network Express (ONE) makes significant donation to aid relief efforts after Moroccan earthquake

<December 19th, 2023, London> Following the devastating 6.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Morocco in September, Ocean Network Express (ONE) employees from across Europe and Africa region raised $1,638.26 USD for local Red Cross and Red Crescent charities to aid emergency relief efforts. This donation was then matched with an additional $25,000 USD from ONE to the Moroccan Red Crescent. To date the society has reached over 50,000 people who have been affected by this disaster. They are providing water, food, hygiene kits, as well as facilitating medical assistance, blood donation drives and offering psychosocial support to those in need.

A spokesperson for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), said “Ocean Network Express’s generous donation will support the IFRC and Moroccan Red Crescent to continue to listen to the people of the Atlas Mountains in order to help them weather the winter, prepare for potential future shocks, and ultimately to get back to life as it was before this catastrophic quake”.

ONE’s MD for Europe and Africa, Takahiro Kikuchi said “We at ONE are glad to support the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies with providing humanitarian aid after the destructive earthquake which impacted the lives of so many people in Morocco. Our thoughts are with all those affected.”

Ocean Network Express is proud to support organisations that help communities in need, particularly at times of disaster.
