South Africa Rainbow Express Service (SRX) – Service Update

As a result of lower productivity, stoppages linked to Covid-19 and recent bad weather, berthing delays have significantly increased at Cape Town Container Terminal. Therefore, to ensure a stable weekly product SAECS partners have agreed on the below schedule contingency plan.


- Santa Clara v.202B: At anchor in Cape Town and will berth 1800hrs 29th May to sail 1800hrs 1st June. Whilst late on pro-forma schedule the vessel is expected to recover any delay on the European port rotation.

- Santa Rita v.202B: Sailing from Cape Town anchorage to Port Elizabeth, replacing the Ulsan v.023N slot in the schedule from 1400hrs 31st May to sail 1500hrs 1st June.  M/V Santa Rita will then proceed directly to Algeciras for the normal window on 12th June to connect with Kmarin Aqua v.022N. Cape Town imports will be discharged in Port Elizabeth and feedered to Cape Town on the ‘Ulsan’ arriving 5th June. 

- Santa Isabel v.202B: Will advance into the Santa Rita position and berth 0800hrs 3rd June to sail 2359hrs 5th June.

- Santa Rosa v.202B: Berth Cape Town 1200hrs 7th June to sail 1400hrs 9th June.

- Ulsan v.023N: Will provide additional capacity from Cape Town to Algeciras and North Europe loading in Cape Town expected 0001hrs 6th June to 2350hrs 6th June
