South Africa Terminal and Vessel Update 27th April 2020

TPT Terminal operations continue to work well with the below structure although there has been some extra wind related delays affecting all terminals. At present both main terminals in Durban and Cape Town continued to have reduced average berthing delays now at 3-4 days but likely to increase depending on final resource plan from 2nd May.

Pier 1 Durban is visibly showing 2 berth operations from 3/May, but Cape Town and Coega/Port Elizabeth continue with 2 and 1 berth operations respectively. We will update further once we get more info on this during the coming week.

Note – SA terminals will be closed from 0600hrs 01st May to 0600hrs 02nd May for workers day. 
Note - There can be variables to gang use below dependent on specific vessel stowage.

Europe Trade


Santa Ursula sailed Cape Town 0605hrs 26th April and giving ETA Algeciras 1400hrs 08th May. Forward schedule is:

-    Rotterdam ETA 1500hrs 12th May
-    London Gateway ETA 0001hrs 15th May

MOL Proficiency sailed Durban 1042hrs 26th April delayed after an incident on the terminal, stopped work at Pier1 terminal 24th April. She unfortunately had to bypass Port Elizabeth to protect her Cape Town window. She is due CPT anchorage 1800hrs 28th April and will berth Cape Town terminal 0800hrs 02nd May to sail 1600hrs 03rd May.

Santa Barbara is alongside working in Durban since PM 26th April and due to sail 1000hrs 29th April. Her anchorage and berth is at Durban 1000hrs on 26th April to sail 0600hrs 28th April. She is therefore likely to work 30th April in PLZ and sail just prior to public holiday but is well in advance of her CPT window for departure 8-9th May.


MOL Presence is now at Cape Town anchorage and due to berth 0001hrs 30th April so is now very tight for avoiding holiday shut down given there is also wind delays appearing Sunday 26th April overnight. We will update her onward schedule for Coega/Durban in due course she currently has still some room in schedule.

Santa Clara – Still due Cape Town 0300hrs 03rd May. At present she is only likely to berth 0800hrs 8th May.

Asia Trade 

Bear Mountain Bridge sailed Cape Town 0250hrs 26th April and ETA Port Kelang 0900hrs 16th April.

ALS Fides – Is still at Cape Town anchorage since 23rd April and should berth AM 28th April but may drop back dependent on wind forecast. She is unlikely to sail before late PM 29th April.

Kota Lawa – is alongside working in Durban and due to sail 0800hrs 27th April deep sea for Singapore. We will update her details on departure.

Ever Devote – sailed Durban 24th April and arrived Cape Town anchorage 1842hrs 26th April. She unfortunately will pick up extra delay and only berth 0800hrs 02nd May and sail 2300hrs 03rd May.

MOL Explorer – is still due to arrive Durban anchorage 0600hrs 29th April and will berth at Pier 2 at 0600hrs and sail 2300hrs 04th May.

Cosco Ashdod – is en route westbound from Asia and due to berth at Pier 1 Durban 0800hrs 02nd May and sail 0100hrs 04th May for Cape Town. Her forward schedule in Cape Town will be updated further during this week. 

Czech is still due Coega 0400hrs 02nd May and expected to berth 1600hrs 02nd May and sail 1200hrs 03rd May.

Symi I – is currently showing on Coega berth plan 1200hrs 08th May on time.

AIM – Middle East and West Africa product

Moen Island - Eastbound for Middle East is now alongside Durban MPT working and due to sail 27th April.

Mozart – Eastbound for Middle East arrived Cape Town anchorage 1520hrs 26th April and expected to berth 27th April and sail 28th April. Her loading dates in Durban are currently 29th Apr to sail 02nd May. 

Westermoor - Westbound for WAF is at Durban anchorage 1805hrs 26th April and hoping to berth 0800hrs 02nd May. Her forward Cape Town  berth will be updated later this week.

NYK Paula – Eastbound for Middle East arrives Cape Town 1600hrs 02nd May berthing 06th May and sailing 07th May. Her dates in Durban are 09-11th May. We will review further during this week as MPT dates can be fluid.
