South Africa Terminal and Vessel Update 29th May 2020

Durban and Coega/Port Elizabeth terminals continue to perform well with no significant delays although, increased vessel deployment and move count volume is starting to increase with strong export volumes.

Cape Town Container Terminal continues with reduced resource and limited night shifts. Transnet have declared force majeure effective 1st June for this terminal due to the increasing numbers of Covid-19 related infections. This will mean, all vessels will berth on a first arrived – first served basis with berthing windows suspended. Berthing delays are now increasing to 8-12 days.

Europe Trade

MOL Presence v.202B: Sailed Cape Town 0855hrs 23rd May. ETA’s European discharge:

Algeciras                  ETA 0200hrs Wed 3rd June

London Gateway     ETA 1700hrs Sun 7th June

Santa Clara v.202B: At Cape Town anchorage. Estimated berthing 1900hrs 30th May, ETD 1125hrs 3rd June. European port schedule dates will be updated on departure.

Santa Rita v.202B: Left Cape Town anchorage and proceeded to Port Elizabeth to replace ‘Ulsan’ and help maintain SAECS weekly schedule. Estimated berthing Port Elizabeth 1800hrs 31st May, ETD 1400hrs 1st June. Vessel will then proceed deep sea direct to Algeciras on schedule. 

Kmarin Aqua v.22N: First WAF1 sailing Port Elizabeth to Algeciras. On berth PECT, ETD 1500hrs 29th May. 

Santa Isabel v.202B: At Cape Town anchorage. Estimated berthing 0400hrs 5th June; ETD 2200hrs 7th June. 

Ulsan v.23N: Utilised as feeder for M/V Santa Rita v202B imports and exports to/from Port Elizabeth.  Following the vessel will load exports from Cape Town to Algeciras as per below schedule:

Santa Rosa v.202A/B: Sailed Coega 2140hrs 28th May with ETA Durban anchorage 1300hrs 30th May. Berthing planned for 2000hrs 30th May; ETD 1400hrs 2nd June. Vessel is expected to berth Cape Town 2000hrs 8th June; ETD 2200hrs 10th June. 

Venetia v.024N: WAF1 service expected to berth Port Elizabeth 2300hrs 7th June; ETD 1200hrs 8th June.

Maersk Luz v.202A/B: Cape Town port call cancelled due to long port delays. Berthing Coega 0600hrs 1st June; ETD 0300hrs 2nd June. Currently scheduled to berth Durban 1800hrs 6th June; ETD 1100hrs 10th June.

Asia Trade 

Cosco Aqaba v.054E: At Cape Town anchorage. ETA berth 0800hrs 30th May, ETD 1600hrs 1st June.

Bai Chay Bridge v.076E: Sailed Durban 1350hrs 25th May. ETA Singapore 0600hrs 9th June.  

Cosco Wellington v.068E: Sailed Durban 2020hrs 22nd May. ETA Singapore 1200hrs 7th June. 

Cosco Sao Paulo v.080E: En Route to Cape Town suffered a fire in No.6 Hold. Vessel is currently alongside Cape Town container terminal performing a limited discharge of cargo and hatch covers.  Awaiting surveyors and owner’s assessment prior to advising the next steps for this sailing.

Cosco Surabaya v.093E: Alongside working in Durban ETD 1400hrs 29th June.

Bay Bridge v.139E: Due to berth Durban Pier2 on 1400hrs 3rd June; ETD 2000hrs 6th June. We will review Cape Town call closer to departure.

ZIM Shanghai v.111E: Due to berth Durban Pier2 on 0600hrd 7th June; ETD 2100hrs 10th June. 

Cape Artemisio v.2012E: Expected to berth Coega 0001hrs 29th May; ETD 1930hrs 29th May.

MSC Giselle v.218E: Delayed arrival due to Quarantine at Santos.  Expected to berth Coega 2200hrs 29th May; ETD 0300hrs 1st June.

MOL Beacon v.2013E: Expected to berth Coega on arrival 2200hrs 3rd June; ETD 0700hrs 5th June. 

AIM – Middle East and West Africa product

Montpellier v.2017W: At Durban anchorage, 14-day quarantine due to reported Covid-19 case. This ends on 31st May and vessel expected to berth Durban 2nd June. Further updates will follow.

Xpress Karakoram v.2010E: Alongside working at Pier 2 in Durban ETD 1400hrs 29th May.

ALS Venus v.2012E: Due to arrive Cape Town anchorage PM 31st May. MPT berth is quite congested and expected berthing is AM 2nd June; ETD AM 3rd June. The vessel will also call Port Elizabeth for a short call on 6th June then proceed to Durban. Estimated berthing date Pier2 in Durban AM 7th June to depart 8th June.

Mozart v.2020W: Due to arrive Durban 0600hrs 6th June. Forward berthing will be updated in next newsflash.
