South Africa Terminals Update – 6/4/20

We are pleased to advise that TPT have revised resource deployment at terminals and with effect from AM Tuesday 7th April will have extra cranes and berths across several terminals. This is summarised as below:

From 0600hrs 7th April

Cape Town Container Terminal             - 2 berths / 4 gangs
Cape Town Multipurpose Terminal        - 1 berth / 2 gangs
Coega Container Terminal                    - 1 berth / 4 gangs
Port Elizabeth Container Terminal        - 1 berth / 2 gangs
Durban Pier 1 Terminal                          - 1 berth / 5 gangs
Durban Pier 2 Terminal                         - 3 berths / 10 gangs
Durban Multipurpose Terminal              - 2 berths / 4 gangs

As a result of this extra capacity the berthing plans do look a little better and we have summarised below the latest Ocean Network Express services and vessels by trade as of PM 5th April.

Europe Trade

Santa Isabel is alongside working in CTCT and due to sail 0400hrs Tuesday 07th April. Once sailed we will update her forward schedule.

Santa Rosa is at Cape Town anchorage and due to berth 1600hrs Friday 10th April sailing AM 13th April. This vessel will be further updated during early part of this week. Her over-carried Coega imports which were discharged in Durban will be feedered from Durban in due course. Final vessel details are being worked on.

Maersk Luz is currently at anchor Durban and will berth late PM 6th April and sail 2000hrs 8th April direct for Cape Town. Her estimated berthing in Cape Town is due to the 2-berth operation earlier on PM 13th April to sail AM 15th April.
   
Santa Ursula has discharged Coega imports in Walvis Bay and these imports plus those from Maersk Luz will be feedered to PLZ by the Border and Horizon in the next few days. Cape Town imports will be retained on board and she will proceed to Durban and berth 12th April sailing PM 13th April for Cape Town export call.

MOL Proficiency is en route to RSA and we are still working on her schedule plan with our partners and will update further in due course.


Asia Trade 

Cosco Surabaya is alongside working at Pier1 Durban and due to sail 1800hrs 6th April for Singapore. We will update once she has cleared.

Kota Layar will berth Durban 2200hrs 8th April and expected to sail PM 10th April for Cape Town.

Bear Mountain Bridge is due to berth Durban AM 16th April sailing PM 18th April also for Cape Town.  

ALS Fides is due to berth Durban PM 18th April sailing 20th April also for Cape Town.

All three of the above ASA/SAS vessels have suffered lengthy berthing delays in Durban and we are reviewing forward schedules with our partners.

Croatia is due to berth Coega PM 15th April this arrival and berth is being kept under review to avoid berthing delays. 

AIM – Middle East and West Africa product

Montpellier is sailing towards Cape Town with ETA 1100hrs 6th April and due to berth MPT late 6th or early 7th Apr to load for Middle East / India via Durban. Durban berthing will be updated considering extra resource being deployed at MPT Durban from 7th April

X-Press Karakoram westbound for WAF sailed Durban 3rd April and now at anchor in Cape Town awaiting berth at MPT. We will review further during Monday once we have the updated berth plan and forward schedule for West Africa.

Moen Island eastbound for Middle East should sail Tin Can 6/April for CPT 12-13/April. Once she has sailed, we will update schedule with provisional stack dates.

Mozart eastbound for Middle East is due to sail WAF PM 8th April posting Cape Town schedule 16-17th April but we will update further during this week.
