SRX Service Update – M/V Santa Clara and Santa Rita v. 202B/203A
The South African Western Cape province currently has the highest number of COVID-19 infections in South Africa and regretfully the Cape Town Container Terminal (CTCT) has been impacted by this. Due to the lack of gangs available the operational capacity of the terminal is currently only at a third of its pre-COVID-19 capacity, which is resulting in significant berthing delays and low productivity. As a result, the M/V Santa Clara 202B sailed South Africa 16 days behind proforma schedule and will coincide with M/V Santa Rita 202B/203A in Europe. To counter this situation, the following contingency updates will be implemented:
M/V Santa Clara 202B/203A:
1. Omit Algeciras northbound call. Algeciras destined cargo will be discharged on the southbound APMT call
2. Combined Rotterdam import/export calls.
3. Change of rotation calling Rotterdam prior to Bremerhaven.
4. Omit Algeciras TTI call.
5. Omit Cape Town 1 southbound call. Cape Town destined cargo will be discharged on the northbound call, ETA 23 July 2020.
